Willy Biography
William Luis Castro was born on December 23rd, 2005 in Havana, Cuba to parents Miriam and Luis Castro. He migrated to the United States at the age of 5 to grow with his grandparents and the rest of his family. He began school during Kindergarten in Spanish Lakes Elementary located in Miami Lakes. Florida. Willy had to overcome many challenges the first few years in the US, not only was he moved to a new country but he also had to learn a new language. Although the task was difficult, he was very committed and hard working, so much that in just a few years he began earning many recognitions for being a very smart and hard working student.
At home he was loved by his entire family. He was always so playful and respectful towards others. In February of 2016 he began practicing Judo for which he started going to championships in May of the same year, where he received his first medal. No task was ever too small for him, anything he set his heart to, he worked very hard to be the best he could be at it. The weekend of his passing, William was at a Judo championship where he again earned another medal for his great talent and discipline. On his way home back from this last championship, Willy went to be with Jesus. Our family was struck and devastated by his loss, but we were all greatly rewarded to know that his life meant and impacted the lives of many during his time on this earth and will continue to do so in heaven.
